The 2021 Annual General Meeting was deferred from the usual May date because of the restrictions in place at the time, and was instead held in October at The Three Daws, Gravesend.
As usual the Society’s three annual trophies were presented at the meeting. The newly-elected Chairman, Roger Newlyn, handed over the handsome glass trophies to the winners.
THE DEADEYE TROPHY
For Barge publication or Film
Awarded to – DAVID PATIENT for the magnificent book
“One of Howard’s” – The life and times of John Howard, Maldon Shipwright, 1849-1915.
THE HALF MODEL TROPHY
For Services to the Society
Awarded to – CHARLES TRAILL and RICHARD WALSH jointly for handling new memberships and renewals in the past year so successfully in addition to their usual Society appointments.
Richard could not be present so will receive his trophy at a later date.
THE COLINDELL TROPHY
For Services to Barging
Awarded to – NEIL PEMBLE for his dedication in restoring the sb Seagull II over a number of years.
